Major Demo update! 2 New Levels! (+Steam Demo)
Hello everyone!
It's been a long time, but I've finally released an update to the demo! It has 2 new levels, some bug fixes and also something else hidden in there. I've also put this demo on Steam (please wishlist the game!), as well as Newgrounds and Game Jolt.
The versions on Newgrounds and Game Jolt have achievements too, so if that's your thing try one of those. The Steam version will have achievements in the full version, but due to how demos work, they won't be included in the demo. If you play the demo on Steam, your progress will continue in the full version and the achievements will unlock there. (That's the plan anyway).
The main changes in this demo are:
- 2 new levels
- Fixed random beat sharing
- Progress calculation and planning
- Supporting different platforms
- Switched mp3 saving to wav saving
- (Although the file sizes are bigger the quality is better and it works better across different platforms)
Please let me know if you run into any problems or have any feedback! Also remember if you want to get monthly updates on what I've been working on please sign up to the mailing list. I also post a similar update to the discord.
As for general progress on the game, I'm very close to finishing all of the main art, I have one room left to draw and a few that are close to being finished. I've also finished planning out how the progress will work more concretely. The music is still only done up to room 24.
The goal is to have all the music and art finished and imported into the game by the end of this year. Then next year the plan is to fix some bugs, details and finish all the animation frames and hopefully the game will be ready to release sometime then. I also have to arrange all the music into a soundtrack. I'm fairly on track with all that, I am just one person doing this in my spare time and I have lots of other stuff going too so progress is slow, but hopefully the game should be ready sometime in 2026.

General Update
As for what I've been doing besides working on the game, there are a few things I can share. I've started doing some live looping performances, I use a guitar and a midi drum pad linked to an iPad running loopy pro. Here's a video of one of those:
The band I play drums in (VARIM) has also released a few singles, I did the art for those too, you can listen to them as an EP here:
I also found out about live coding recently and tried it out a little, I'd like to come back to that at some point. Heres a video of that. Since then I found some other tools that I think are a bit better suited to what I want to do, so I'll use those when I come back to it.
I've also slowly been adding stuff to my personal website, I've still been posting (roughly) daily notepad drawings there. I have over 900 of those now. I have an RSS feed for those that updates whenever I finish a new notepad. I also post them to mastodon, bluesky and twitter, if those are your thing.

Anyway, apologies that it's taken so long to get this demo out. Please let me know if there are any problems with it, or you have any general feedback! I'm going to try to get the main game done as quickly as I can.
Thanks for reading, and waiting for the game!
